Best forgotten!
Film: Unforgettable
Cast: Mohammed Iqbal Khan, Alka Verma, Hazel Crowney, Kiran Kumar, Shahbaaz Khan, Usha Bachani

Director: Arshad Yusuf Pathan
 Rating: *

Once-upon-a-time famous TV star and reportedly Ekta Kapoor’s fave, Iqbal Khan was languishing in ig-nonimity before he could manage this so-called break into Bollywood. And it’s purportedly a first- completely produced in the United Arab Emirates, whatever that signifies!

A tumultuous musical love story revolving around three characters essayed by Iqbal Khan, Alka Verma and Hazel Crowney written and directed by Arshad Yusuf Pathan, this film has little to offer other than it’s picturesque UAE setting and an inside view of Sheikh Mohammed’s world famous stables, ‘Godolphin.’ The beautiful setting and intriguing locations apart, there’s very little to attract the attention of the cinema lover. The story is as hackneyed and devoid of logic, as they come. Confounding plotting makes it all the more intractable and unappealing. Not much was expected from this effort and it stays true to that presumption. Even the compositions are too pedestrian to qualify as musical.  Frankly, why would anyone put in their hard earned bucks on this predictable loser?

Midsummer Midnight Mumbai/M3 (Hindi) Rating: * ½  another whodunit but without any class or suitable substance, this one is too lackluster to bother about.

Feckless whodunit
Film: Midsummer Midnight Mumbai(M3)
Cast: Sara Khan, Paras Chabbra, Milind gunaji, Kiran Kumar, Pooja Thakur,M.A.Guddu
Rating: * ½

The moniker has nothing much to do with the story being told, so that’s a negative in itself. The manner in which the narrative is structured, makes for a period of clueless wonder and even towards the end it remains that way. And this despite the contrived set0up and conveniently plottled development.
Sapna(Sara Khan) and Rahul(paras Chabra) are in love. To confuse matters, Nisha and Rahul are also shown in compromising positions. But several songs later we are given to understand that Nisha and Rahul’s sexual closeness is all in Nisha’s imagination. She is the one who helped Rahul get his ig break as a singer in her father’s music company. Then comes the clincher. Rahul is murdered on the day he was supposed to get engaged to Sapna.

The film in fct opnes with the scene of the crime with something which seems like Rahul’s apparition filing a complaint of his own murder. It’s a confounding piece of plotting and just a little curiosity spraks interest. But only for a short span. Once the truth is revealed you know that the script will go to any lengths to confuse and mislead. The songs are just about ok. The performances are all wooden and uninteresting. The characters are so badly drawn that you wouldn’t believe it if you saw it. At the end of it all you just feel incredulous that something like this had a financier willing to support it’s creation.
